Our long shot for the first FedEx Cup Playoffs event is pro golf journeyman Ryan Brehm. Brehm is responsible for one of the best stories of the regular season. In his last start with Tour eligibility at the Puerto Rico Open in March, Brehm went out and captured his first PGA Tour victory to keep his career alive, and he did so with his wife on the bag.

In recent weeks, Brehm finished T31 at the 3M Open and T57 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He opened last week’s Wyndham Championship with a stellar 66 before struggling to a 74 in the second round to miss the cut.

Just in case you thought pro golf season was over, there’s $7.5 million on the line this week at the 3M Open, and the oddsmakers have placed Tony Finau as the favorite to win at +1400. Finau captured his second PGA Tour win at last year’s Northern Trust, and he placed T28 at the Old Course last week. Finau also has two runner-ups since May, so he’s playing well.

According to the Scottish Open betting odds via BetMGM, only heavy-hitters can be found among the betting favorites. Here’s what you need to know.

Weeks after his triumphant first major victory at the U.S. Open at The Country Club, Matt Fitzpatrick returns to action this week in Scotland.

But his historic win outside Boston was not enough to earn him the title of betting favorite. At +2000 odds to win, Fitzpatrick has four players ahead of him.

The man at the top of the list is former World No. 1 Jon Rahm. Rahm has only one win on the season and has been overtaken ranking-wise by 2022 major winners Scottie Scheffler (+1400) and Justin Thomas (+1400). But according to oddsmakers, Rahm has the best chances to win at +1200.
