If you’re still hungry for some high-caliber pro golf, you’re in luck. The 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational kicks off this week in Memphis, and a stellar field awaits. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational preview
Typically World Golf Championships feature some of the strongest fields of the season, despite their limited size, and the WGC-FedEx St. Jude is no different. World No. 5 and defending champion Justin Thomas is coming off an exciting week representing the U.S. at the Tokyo Olympics. Thomas didn’t fare as well as he hoped (T22), but his teammate Xander Schauffele brought home the gold for the Americans anyway.
Now Thomas is back stateside at a tournament where he has some serious positive vibes. He started the final round of the 2020 edition four shots back, then shot a five-under 65 on Sunday to win by three and capture his 13th Tour victory (he tallied No. 14 at the Players Championship in March).
But Thomas will have his work cut out for him, and that doesn’t even take into account his Olympics jet lag. He’ll be joined in Tennessee by the newly-minted gold medalist Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth, to name a few.
