The PGA Tour is back in action today for the opening round of the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. Here’s what you need to know to watch the first round.

Previewing Farmers Insurance Open Round 1

Jon Rahm briefly summited the mountaintop that is the Official World Golf Ranking twice in the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 PGA Tour season. Most of the year, though, he was stuck where he finds himself right now: No. 2. But this week at the Farmers Insurance Open, Rahm has a great chance to make up some ground in that quest.

The top-ranked player, 2020 Masters champion Dustin Johnson, is sitting this week out. So the path is clear for Rahm to make a run at Torrey Pines, where he led after 54 holes and finished one shot short of a playoff with winner Marc Leishman last year.

But Rahm will still face the toughest field so far this year. Rory McIlroy is making his 2021 PGA Tour debut after a third-place finish in Abu Dhabi last week. Phil Mickelson, Sungjae Im, Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Bubba Watson and more are also teeing it up this week. Tiger Woods, on the other hand, will miss out while he recovers from a recent back surgery.

Below you will find everything you need to watch the first round of the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open on Thursday.
