Despite arriving days after the thrilling PGA Championship, the Charles Schwab Challenge features a stellar field that includes all the major players from Southern Hills, and according to the Charles Schwab Challenge betting odds via BetMGM, the PGA winner is the betting favorite. Here’s what you need to know.
2022 Charles Schwab Challenge odds: This week’s favorites
Justin Thomas just won the second PGA Championship of his career, but he’s getting right back on the horse this week at Colonial. Fittingly, he’s the betting favorite with +1100 odds to win the tournament.
Despite a disappointing performance at the PGA, Texas native Jordan Spieth comes in to the Charles Schwab Challenge tied for second place in odds to win at +1200. The player tied with him? 2022 Masters champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.
With so many big names teeing it up, it should be a fun week, and a tough one to bet on.
2022 Charles Schwab Challenge odds: Long shot of the week
Lost in the shuffle of the final-round drama on Sunday at the PGA was Rickie Fowler shooting an even-par 70 to finish T23 at two over. It was his second-best major finish in years after only his T8 at the 2021 PGA.
Fowler is desperately trying to get back to his winning ways after years of struggles, so a performance like that should give him a nice shot of confidence. The oddsmakers have set Fowler’s number at +10000 this week, which makes him a long shot by most definitions. With his game turning in the right direction, he’s well worth a small bet at Colonial. Should he pull off the win, you could turn $10 into $1,000.
