As the PGA Tour turns to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, there are co-favorites for the first event of post-season play. Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas own the best odds to win the Northern Trust at 12/1, according to golfodds.com. DeChambeau is a former winner of the playoff opener while Thomas hasn’t finished outside the top 20 in five starts.
Another pair of heavyweights comes in just behind the favorites as World No. 1 Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy each own 14/1 odds. Rahm has a pair of top-3 finishes in three starts in the Northern Trust while McIlroy has four top 25s in seven starts.
A hoard of competitors come in tied for the third best odds as Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, Jason Day and Collin Morikawa sit at 20/1. This is the first start for Morikawa since his PGA Championship victory two weeks ago and his second career start at the Northern Trust.
Tiger Woods sits well behind the favorites with just 40/1 odds for the week.
