Two days are complete at the 2021 Players Championship, but two rounds are not, setting up a long day of golf to start the weekend. Here’s what you need to know to watch all the action from TPC Sawgrass on Saturday.
Previewing Players Championship Round 3
With competitors facing a tricky course and an early sunset, several players were unable to complete their rounds on Friday at the 2021 Players Championship. So the first order of business on Saturday morning is finishing off Round 2, beginning at 7 a.m. ET. Once the final putt drops, the cut will be made, and we’ll finally be ready for Moving Day.
While not everyone got done in time, plenty of players did finish their second rounds on Friday, including most of those near the top of the leaderboard. Among them is Bryson DeChambeau, who maintained a steady hand to shoot a second-straight 69. That leaves him three shots off the lead held by Lee Westwood. Westwood, just shy of his 48th birthday, made six birdies in a flawless, bogey-free second round to finish with a one-shot advantage at nine under.
First-round leader Sergio Garcia wasn’t able to stay on top of the heap, but he did make two late birdies to shoot even par, leaving him tied with Chris Kirk two shots behind Westwood. Matthew Fitzpatrick shot a second-consecutive 68 to claim solo second position at eight under through 36 holes.
Tee times for the third round will be released once the second round is completely over Saturday morning. Until then, you can find everything you need to know to watch the third round below.
