2021 Travelers Championship final round preview
In the first weekend following the U.S. Open on the golf schedule, a packed field headed cross-country to Connecticut for the Travelers Championship. Through three rounds of play, a host of big names are near the lead — headlined by none other than two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson. Watson enters Sunday in a tie for the lead after back-to-back 66s to open the week. A strong performance on Sunday could give the 42-year-old his first professional victory since his win at the Travelers in 2018.
Behind Watson sits another former major winner looking for a career resurgence — none another than Jason Day. Day enters Sunday at nine under, one back of Watson’s tally, looking for his first victory since the Wells Fargo in 2018.
In order to emerge Sunday, he’ll have to chase down, then hold off a group of contenders, including Kramer Hickok, Harris English and fellow Aussie Cameron Smith. Further back, Guido Migliozzi and Sam Burns headline the longshots looking to surge into contention on Sunday afternoon at TPC River Highlands.
Below is the payout information, including winner’s share, for the Travelers’ $7.4 million purse; you can catch the action all afternoon Sunday on CBS.
