Another Sunday morning on the PGA Tour and another 54-hole lead for Brendon Todd. The 35-year-old holds a one-stroke lead heading into Sunday at the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational, the latest in a string of strong performances for the resurgent 35-year-old in 2020.
Todd is seeking his third win of the 2020 Tour season Sunday, but he’ll need to fend off a quartette of golf’s biggest names to do so. Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Phil Mickelson make up 3rd through 6th place heading into the final round of play, and all four golfers are ostensibly within striking distance of Todd (between two and five strokes back) at TPC Southwind.
With the PGA Championship looming next week, it should come as no surprise to see Koepka’s name back near the top of the leaderboard. But even given his penchant for playing well in the biggest moments, the 30-year-old has struggled to find his game as of late. The four-time major champion sandwiched a T62 finish between a pair of missed cuts to end July, and a top-10 finish at TPC Southwind would mark only his second since undergoing knee surgery last fall.
Below is the payout information for the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational’s $10.5 million purse; you can watch all the action Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET on Golf Channel and continuing at 3:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
