One round is complete at the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, and Round 2 awaits, where players will fight for a chance to play on Saturday. Here’s what you need to know to watch the second round.

Previewing Farmers Insurance Open Round 2

Patrick Reed stormed into a share of the lead in the opening round at Torrey Pines, picking apart the North Course for eight birdies to shoot an eight-under 64. That left him tied atop the leaderboard with Alex Noren, who also shot a 64 on the North Course Thursday.

Both players will now switch to the more difficult South Course for the second round, the site of Tiger Woods’ 2008 U.S. Open victory. Reed tees off at 1:40 p.m. ET alongside Rickie Fowler and Bubba Watson, while Noren will start off in the earliest grouping with Anirban Lahiri and Tim Wilkinson at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Another player to look out for on Friday is Rory McIlroy. Coming off a third-place finish at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship last week, McIlroy went out and shot a four-under 68 on the South Course, which gives him a great opportunity to gain some ground on the leaders on the North Course Friday. McIlroy tees off for the second round at 12:30 p.m. ET with Brooks Koepka and Matthew Wolff.
