The last PGA Tour season may have just ended with Dustin Johnson’s victory at the Tour Championship, but now the new 2020-21 season is set to begin at the 2020 Safeway Open in Napa, Calif. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the event.
Safeway Open preview
The fan favorite in the field at this year’s Safeway Open is without a doubt Phil Mickelson. Mickelson made a trip to the winner’s circle just a few weeks ago at the Champions Tour’s Charles Schwab Series at Ozark National, the 50-year-old’s debut on the senior circuit.
Mickelson hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since 2019, but he’ll try to end that quickly in the Tour’s season opener at Silverado Resort. He’ll be joined by fellow major winners Jordan Spieth, Shane Lowry, Charl Schwartzel, Jim Furyk, Jason Dufner, Keegan Bradley, Stewart Cink, Lucas Glover, and defending champion Cameron Champ in what is the final tune-up before next week’s U.S. Open at Winged Foot.
