UPDATE: Due to heavy rain in the Hobe Sound, Fla., area, The Match II has been pushed back 45 minutes and will now start at 3:45 p.m. ET on the same networks.
After weeks of anticipation, golf fans everywhere will start ramping up for the Tiger-Phil match they’ve been craving. The Match II: Champions for Charity is scheduled for Sunday from Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Fla.
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will join together Sunday to compete in this year’s iteration of the match, spearheading a $10 million donation toward coronavirus relief efforts. Unlike the original Tiger-Phil match, the four golfers will be permitted to wear shorts and will play using golf carts.
How does the Match II work?
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will each pair with one of football’s biggest names (Tiger with Peyton Manning, Phil with Tom Brady) to form two teams.
On the first nine holes, the four players will compete in a fourball match, with the lowest score on each hole winning the hole for their respective team. For the last nine holes, all four players will compete in a modified alternate shot format. After teeing off, each team will alternate shots between both of its players until the ball is in the hole.
What time does the Tiger-Phil match start?
Coverage of the highly anticipated Tiger-Phil match will start Sunday, May 24 at 3:00 p.m. ET on a quartette of Turner network channels: TNT, TBS, truTV and HLN. Online streaming is available on desktop through TNTdrama.com and TBS.com and on mobile through the Bleacher Report app.
The foursome is scheduled to tee off shortly after 3:00 p.m. ET at Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Fla.
