Here’s what you missed from Round 2 of the Wyndham Championship

It’s shaping up to be an exciting weekend at the Wyndham Championship, where players like Patton Kizzire and Daniel Berger are hoping to earn a spot in next week’s playoff event, the Northern Trust.

Here’s everything you missed from Friday’s action in Greensboro, N.C.

After firing a first-round 62 to share the lead with Sungjae Im, Byeong Hun An followed up with a second-round 65 to take the solo lead at 13 under par — one stroke ahead of Brice Garnett at 12 under.

An has now played 36 bogey-free holes. If he wins this week, it will not only be his maiden PGA Tour victory, he’ll also jump 56 spots in the FedEx Cup standings, from 82nd to 26th.

Spieth had five birdies and two bogeys to sign for a round of three-under-par 67 on Friday. He dropped five places on the leaderboard into T-12 at nine under par overall.

Webb Simpson is T-3 at 11 under par after rounds of 64-65.

Paul Casey shot back-to-back 65s on Thursday and Friday to sit in T-9 at 10 under par overall.

Young phenoms Victor Hovland and Matthew Wolff are eight under par overall in T-19, while last week’s winner Collin Morikawa is T-27 at seven under par overall.

Patton Kizzire is poised to make the biggest jump at the moment. He’s currently tied for third at 11 under par overall — a 30-spot jump from 129 to 99 in the FedEx Cup rankings.

At 126th in the rankings, Austin Cook needs to move up the leaderboard if he wants to get into next week’s field. He”s currently T-38 at 6 under par.

Same goes for Alex Noren, who is currently 125 and projected to move outside the line to 129th if he doesn’t improve hid position at T-68 on the leaderboard.

Richy Werenski is currently 127th, but did manage to make the cut, so a spot in next week’s Northern Trust is still possible if he can improve upon his current position of T-68 (-4).

Daniel Berger came into the week at 131, and needs to make up some shots this weekend to improve his current standing alongside Werenski at T-68.

Notable players to miss the cut include Hideki Matsuyama (-3), Pat Perez (-3), Padraig Harrington (-3), Sangmoon Bae (E), Martin Kaymer (+1), Jimmy Walker (+2), Luke Donald (+2), Charley Hoffman (+3) and Cameron Champ (+7).
