The 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson kicks off this week in Texas with a star-studded field filled with major champions. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
AT&T Byron Nelson preview
This year the Byron Nelson acts as the final tune-up before the second major of the year, the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills, which gets underway next week. As a result, a bunch of star players are in the field this week to get ready for Tulsa. Among them is three-time major winner Jordan Spieth.
Spieth struggled through a lengthy win drought before ending it last year at the Valero Texas Open. He’s contended regularly in 2022, with another win coming in his last start at the RBC Heritage. Now Spieth faces a true home game, with second-time host course TPC Craig Ranch located in Jordan’s home region of Dallas-Fort Worth.
But Spieth will have plenty of company, including fellow Texan, Masters champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler is the betting favorite this week in his first stroke-play event since the Masters. Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Hideki Matsuyama, Xander Schauffele, Will Zalatoris and Brooks Koepka will also take a shot at the Byron Nelson crown.
Coverage of the AT&T Byron Nelson will be provided by Golf Channel and CBS on TV, and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Paramount+ online for those who prefer to stream the tournament.
