Capital One’s The Match is returning this summer, but this time, there won’t be any professional golfers involved. Instead, a quartet of NFL star quarterbacks will have the run of show.
Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills) and Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs) will face off against Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas on June 1. Brady and Rodgers have each competed in The Match previously, while Allen and Mahomes will be making their franchise debuts.
Turner Sports announced the matchup via press release Monday afternoon. The event will be a 12-hole match, with TV coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
Brady and Rodgers played in the most recent Match last summer, as Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau defeated Brady and Phil Mickelson. Brady also played in The Match alongside Mickelson in 2020, when the duo lost to Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning.
According to the USGA’s GHIN handicap system, Brady and Allen each carry an 8.1 handicap index, while Rodgers sports a 4.6 index. Mahomes does not have an official handicap, but he is reported to have a 7.7 index.
