Tour player couples

Hello, friends!

Welcome to another edition of the Rogers Report, where I’ll be catching you up on all things social media and golf. I’m reporting live from the Genesis Invitational this week, so these posts will be more frequent. Between the WM Phoenix Open, Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl, we have a lot to catch up on. Let’s dive in.

The week of the WAGs

Valentine’s Day is about one thing: Flexing your significant other on social media. It’s a day for even the most private couples to toss up an appreciation post for their better half, and that’s exactly what we got on Monday.

These posts are great, but my absolute favorite piece of WAG content on social media came on Sunday at the WM Phoenix Open. While Patrick Cantlay and Scottie Scheffler faced off in a playoff, their significant others leaned on each other to deal with the pressure. Check it out.

Koepka’s Super Bowl commercial

Brooks Koepka usually sticks to golf and getting in the mix on social media, but he took a page from his fiancee Jena Sims’ book and tried his hand at acting for Michelob Ultra’s Super Bowl commercial. Not bad!

Joel Dahmen and Harry Higgs

I know, I know, you’ve seen this footage a million times. But this is a social media roundup, so I’d be remiss if I didn’t share the video one last time.

I’ll admit that after seeing this interaction between Dahmen and Mitchell on Twitter, I was pretty certain that Higgs would be keeping his shirt on come No. 16 on Sunday. If it stayed on for eight grand, I believed nothing could change that. But I failed to consider the influence a good friend can have on your decision-making skills, especially when they’re right by your side.

This is a classic “I’ll do it if you do it” situation that luckily for us, turned into a viral moment on Twitter.

DJ

DJ may not have played in the WM Phoenix Open, but he still had quite a week. From meeting his niece to a partnership with Prada and a trip to the Super Bowl, the two-time major winner has been living large.

Forgive me for not knowing the correct fashion terminology but those appear to be — for lack of a better word — Prada purses on his shoes! I’m not sure what purpose they serve other than simply showing off the fact that he’s wearing Prada. He might be able to keep his Airpods in one of them and a small snack in the other? I’m not totally sure. Either way, congrats on the partnership, DJ.

Many golfers would say the view on No. 16 at TPC Scottsdale is the place to be on Super Bowl Sunday, but I don’t think DJ’s Super Bowl seats or the company he was with were too shabby, either.
