The strongest field of the year is ready at Riviera Country Club to start Day 1 of the 2021 Genesis Invitational. Here’s what you need to know to watch the first round.

Previewing Genesis Invitational Round 1

If you were holding out waiting for the heart of the PGA Tour season to begin, you’ve missed a lot of great action over the past month. But this week is a great one to start tuning in, for many reasons. The Genesis Invitational is hosted by Tiger Woods, for one, and though he’s still recovering from back surgery, he’ll be hanging around for his hosting duties. Getting a peek at iconic and exclusive Riviera CC is reason enough on its own to watch.

But the best reason to watch the tournament this week is because, though Tiger won’t be playing, just about every other star of the PGA Tour will be. That includes World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, coming off a win in Saudi Arabia, and four-time major champion Brooks Koepka, who just secured his eighth Tour win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Jordan Spieth will continue his quest for his first win in four years. He’s come close the past two weeks, including a T4 at the WMPO and a T3 at Pebble Beach, and plenty of fans will be glued to his rounds to see if he can finally end the drought. That’s not to mention other stars like Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and defending champion Adam Scott, to name a few. They’ll all be in the mix, too.

Below you will find everything you need to watch the first round on Thursday.
