At the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, Tiger Woods battled multiple injuries to defeat Rocco Mediate in a 19-hole Monday playoff, capturing his third U.S. Open and 14th major championship title. Tiger wouldn’t win another major until the 2019 Masters, and the victory, including his clutch birdie putt on the 72nd hole to force the playoff, lives on in golf lore.

The 2021 U.S. Open will be played June 17-20, and barring injury, Tiger will be back to defend his Torrey title.
