Once the opening round is complete, the best players on the PGA Tour will return to Caves Valley GC on Friday for the second round of the 2021 BMW Championship. You can find full Round 2 tee times for the tournament at the bottom of this post.
Notable groupings for BMW Championship Round 2
Somehow Dustin Johnson still has something to prove on the PGA Tour. The veteran pro quieted a lot of doubters with his 2020 Masters win, which backed up his first major triumph at the 2016 U.S. Open. That came shortly after capturing the 2020 FedEx Cup title. But the defending Cup champion’s game has faltered since, at least by his standards. He’s trying to change that narrative at just the right time.
Johnson missed the cut at last week’s playoff-opening Northern Trust, but things are looking better for the World No. 2 early at the BMW in Maryland. DJ opened with two quick birdies at the 2nd and 4th holes, putting him near the top of the leaderboard early in the opening round. He finished with a five-under 67, three shots behind co-leaders Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Sam Burns. On Friday, Johnson will switch to an afternoon tee time of 12:50 p.m. ET and will again play with Daniel Berger and Scottie Scheffler.
Other notable groupings for the second round include Jordan Spieth, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau (10:57 a.m. ET); ; Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa (11:09 a.m.); Sungjae Im, Billy Horschel and Rory McIlroy (11:21 a.m.); and Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland and Brooks Koepka (1:14 p.m.).
