Presidents Cup live coverage: How to watch the 2019 Presidents Cup on Wednesday

December 11, 2019

The first day of the 2019 Presidents Cup is here, and the U.S. and International teams are prepping for the opening matches. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the action on Day 1.

How to watch the Presidents Cup: Day 1

The Presidents Cup is in Australia this year, which means the matches will be played in a time zone 16 hours ahead of the East Coast of the United States. While the event runs from Thursday to Sunday at Royal Melbourne, the time difference means that for viewers in the United States, it actually starts on Wednesday night.

The first session on Thursday in Australia (Wednesday night in the U.S.) features five fourball matches. Team captains Tiger Woods and Ernie Els determined the specific matchups on the eve of the opening day.

As a playing captain for the U.S. team, Woods chose to kick off the festivities by playing in the first match alongside top-ranked American Justin Thomas. That match will begin at 9:32 a.m. Thursday morning in Melbourne, which is 5:32 p.m. ET Wednesday night.

The fifth and final match will start one hour later, with Louis Oosthuizen and Abraham Ancer of the International team taking on the powerhouse American duo of Dustin Johnson and reigning U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland. Five more matches will follow on Thursday, with eight being contested on Friday, and a final 12 singles matches on the final day.

All four rounds will be broadcast on Golf Channel in the United States, so that’s where you’ll need to tune in to watch the action. You can watch online at NBCSports.com with cable credentials, or by signing into your PGA Tour Live account. Check out the TV schedule and full list of Day 1 matches and tee times below.
