LA Golf acquires SIK Golf and introduces premium putter

LA Golf has already cemented its status among the ultra-premium shaft makers in the world. The California-based company has legions of hardcore fans, many of whom consider price a non-issue when it comes to dialing in the perfect shaft. In other words, LA Golf’s higher-priced specialty shafts tend to be more expensive because they deliver the goods.
For instance, LA Golf’s TPZ carbon putter shaft is designed to feel buttery like graphite but with tremendous stiffness and minimal torque. It costs more than most premium putters cost at $400. Again, money talks if the product does the walk.
Here’s where things get really interesting. LA Golf recently acquired SIK Golf, better known as the putter brand Bryson DeChambeau uses and for its Descending Loft Face Technology that imparts the optimal loft at impact even when the hands are positioned a little forward through the strike. DeChambeau is also a partner with LA Golf, and as a result, the partnership between DeChambeau, LA Golf and SIK Golf quickly led to the development of an all-new LA Golf Putter that is not only mega-expensive at $1,500, it’s possibly a game-changer in terms of putter construction and design.
The LA Golf Putter has an all-carbon composite putterhead with a SIK face insert, a large diameter anti-vibration shaft, a stainless steel hosel and the aforementioned Descending Loft Face Technology. When viewed as the sum of its parts, it’s a putter that according to LA Golf, helps golfers hit the sweet spot more often to ensure the ball not only rolls on the intended line but also with the desired speed.
“Most golfers miss the sweet spot the majority of the time, and when they do, it changes the speed and line of the putt,” DeChambeau said. “This causes players to regularly miss putts they would otherwise make, even if read correctly. LA Golf solved this issue by creating a putter that gives you a higher probability of hitting the sweet spot.”
