The 2022 Open Championship, the fourth and final major of the year, begins this week at the historic Old Course at St. Andrews. Here is our complete Open Championship viewer’s guide for the entire tournament, including full streaming and TV schedules, as well as complete Open tee times for rounds 1 and 2.
2022 Open Championship preview
It has been a thrilling men’s major season so far this year, with more memorable moments and controversy than anyone could ask for. It’s only fitting that it all comes to an end with the 150th playing of the Open Championship at “the home of golf.”
It’s been seven long years since the claret jug was last hoisted on the 18th green with the R&A building and St. Andrews’ medieval skyline looming in the background. Back then, it was Zach Johnson who denied Louis Oosthuizen his second straight Old Course Open title and stymied Jordan Spieth’s 2015 attempt at the Grand Slam to capture his second major win.
This year, Spieth and Oosthuizen, who now plays for LIV Golf, are among the pre-tournament contenders. But a murderer’s row of favorites stand in their way, including 2022 U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, 2022 PGA champion Justin Thomas, Masters champ and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who is playing great and hungry to end his seven-year major drought.
Fans watching the action from home will have extensive viewing options. NBC and USA will handle the TV broadcasts, and exhaustive streaming options will be available via Peacock, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
