The second round of the 2021 Honda Classic kicks off Friday, March 19, at PGA National, where the competitors will fight to make the cut and play the weekend. Here’s what you need to know to watch the second round.
Previewing Honda Classic Round 2
If you were hoping to see Phil Mickelson tee it up at PGA National this week, you’d be smart to tune in to the second round on Friday to get your fill on Phil. Mickelson made three birdies on Thursday, but he was undone by a double bogey at the 6th, finishing at one over. Without a strong second round, the five-time major champion will be heading home early.
Mickelson tees off at 1:04 p.m. ET on Friday alongside Shane Lowry and Zach Johnson, who both shot three-under 67s Thursday. Given the later tee time, you should be able to catch a good portion of Phil’s round on the Golf Channel coverage.
One player who will almost certainly be sticking around for Saturday is Matt Jones. The 40-year-old Australian pro shot 61 to tie the tournament record for lowest round. That gave him a three-shot lead when play finished just before dark.
Below you will find everything you need to watch the second round on Friday.
