Previewing Presidents Cup Day 1
The Presidents Cup has finally arrived! After an extra year of waiting due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re finally ready for a rematch of the 2019 Cup. Back then, the U.S. team rallied from an early deficit to win 16-14 at Royal Melbourne in Australia, led by playing captain Tiger Woods.
The U.S. team is 11-1-1 in the history of the Presidents Cup, and this year’s American side is an even heavier favorite than usual. Several of the International team’s top players are not in the mix this year, having been banned from the competition after signing with LIV Golf.
Thursday’s session will feature five 2-on-2 foursomes matches, and it all gets started this afternoon. Golf Channel will carry the TV coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET. You can watch all of Golf Channel’s coverage with Hulu + Live TV.
