The 2022 U.S. Open begins Thursday, June 16, at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. You can find full Round 1 U.S. Open tee times for Thursday at the bottom of this post.

Heading into the opening round of the U.S. Open, the star attraction just might be four-time major winner Rory McIlroy. McIlroy, who won the 2011 U.S. Open at Congressional for his first major title, is fresh off a victory at the RBC Canadian Open, the 21st PGA Tour win of his career.

And though he’s been one of the game’s biggest stars since he first turned pro, McIlroy has become something of the face and voice of the PGA Tour in recent weeks, declaring his loyalty to the Tour in the face of the upstart LIV Golf league.

Rory is playing some off his best golf in many years, having contended in the first two majors of the season, including a solo-second finish at the Masters. When he tees off on Thursday alongside Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele, he’ll do so as the betting favorite to win.

McIlroy, Matsuyama and Schauffele will get their tournaments started early on Thursday at 7:40 a.m. ET. You can watch Thursday’s first round on USA and NBC on TV, or stream the action live online via Peacock and USOpen.com. Click through to see our full U.S. Open TV and streaming schedules.
