The 2022 3M Open, the third-to-last PGA Tour event before the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, kicks off this week in Minnesota. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.

3M Open preview

With the FedEx Cup Playoffs set to begin in just a few weeks, it’s a good time to check in on the standings, especially in relation to those pros teeing it up this week at TPC Twin Cities.

3M Open picks: Who an expert (and golf fans!) think will win at TPC Twin Cities

Hideki Matsuyama, the top-ranked player and only recent major champion in the field, has little to worry about playoffs-wise. He sits in 8th thanks to two early-season wins, but his play of late has been shaky, so he’s looking to build some momentum this week.

But one player beats out Matsuyama as the betting favorite, and his place in the FedEx standings is less secure. Tony Finau has failed to add to his PGA Tour win total after winning a playoff event last year (the Northern Trust). He’s currently just inside the bubble to qualify for the Tour Championship at No. 30, but he’ll need some strong play over the coming weeks to stay there.
