WATCH: Si Woo Kim suffers brutal lip out on what would have been his second ace of day

Si Woo Kim at Wyndham Championship

Si Woo Kim reacts after just missing his second hole-in-one of the day Saturday at the 2020 Wyndham Championship.

Si Woo Kim is on fire on Saturday at the 2020 Wyndham Championship. The 29-year-old former Players champion began the day tied for the lead at 10 under, but he didn’t wait long to get his score going even lower.

And he did it with style.

Kim aced the par-3 3rd hole with a high iron shot that landed right next to the hole and hopped in. Nick Faldo exclaimed, “If you aim dead straight that’s what happens!” on the TV broadcast, but Kim’s reaction was more subdued. He couldn’t see the hole from the tee, so he turned to others nearby and asked if it went in, before surrendering a few smiles.

But Kim wasn’t done yet. At the 196-yard par-3 12th hole, he nearly accomplished a truly rare feat in golf: two holes-in-one in a single round.

His tee shot was right on line, and Jim Nantz even tried to call the shot. Incredibly, his ball landed a few feet in front of the hole, bounced and rolled forward, then lipped out of the cup. Kim could see it all happen this time, and he threw his hands in the air in disbelief before grinning and walking off the tee.

Check it out below.

Though he missed out on a once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment, Kim finished off his birdie, moving him to 15 under and keeping him squarely in contention for a victory this weekend.
