No one is even close to Patrick Cantlay in odds to win this week's Shriners Children's Open, not even the defending champ.

This week the PGA Tour heads to sunny Las Vegas for the 2022 Shriners Children’s Open, and a star-studded field is lined up to play. According to the Shriners Children’s Open betting odds via BetMGM, a former FedEx Cup champion is the heavy favorite, but a few other star players are worth checking out. Here’s what you need to know.

2022 Shriners Children’s Open odds: This week’s favorites

Some weeks on the PGA Tour, there is no clear favorite, officially or unofficially. Sometimes that’s reflected in the oddsmakers calculations, and sometimes it isn’t. But this week, there is no confusion or debate: Patrick Cantlay is far-and-away the betting favorite.

Cantlay is the top-ranked player in the field at No. 4 in the world, and he leads the way with +650 odds to win. Trailing him in a distant second is the defending champion, Sungjae Im (+1800), who outclassed his competitors to the tune of a four-shot win last year at TPC Summerlin.

But a couple other players within the Top 10 in odds to win can’t be ignored. Max Homa, who is tied with Im at +1800, already has a win in the new season, defending his title at the Fortinet Championship in September before starring on the U.S. team at the Presidents Cup. Perhaps the biggest star coming out of the Presidents Cup, International team member Tom Kim (+2200), is also teeing it up in Las Vegas.

2022 Shriners Children’s Open odds: Long shot of the week

One of these days Jason Day is going to summit the golf world again and win another PGA Tour title. Why not this week? The former PGA champion has been rounding into form in recent years on Tour after battling numerous injuries.

‘It falls out beneath you’: Jason Day, leading again, opens up on struggles
By: Nick Piastowski

Last season, Day made 12 cuts in 18 events (not counting a WD at the Wyndham Championship) and earned two top-10 finishes. His best result of the year came at one of the premier events on Tour, the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, where he finished T3.

Day’s increasingly solid play has seen his odds-to-win rise accordingly, but there still is tremendous value in betting on the Australian star. At +10000 this week, should you entrust $100 to a Day victory, his comeback win would earn you $10,000.
