Bryson DeChambeau and longtime caddie Tim Tucker split up at this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic, which came as a surprise to the golf world — especially since the breakup reportedly happened on the eve of the tournament’s first round.

And one player, who has had no shortage of run-ins with DeChambeau, wasted no time chiming in on the news.

Not long after the story broke, Brooks Koepka tweeted a picture alongside caddie Ricky Elliott with the text: “Couldn’t do it without my guy Rick! Best friend and greatest caddie to do it. @RickyElliott appreciation day!”

Of course, the tweet said nothing about DeChambeau, but Koepka’s intentions were quite clear. He even doubled down with a follow up tweet and retweeted another from Barstool Sports’ PFT Commenter.

DeChambeau and Tucker had teamed up for all eight of DeChambeau’s PGA Tour wins, including the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot.

The DeChambeau-Tucker news was first reported by No Laying Up. When reached by GOLF.com, DeChambeau’s agent, Brett Falkoff, said the split was mutual.

“All good things come to end,” Falkoff said. “Bryson and Tim are grateful for all the great times they had together. Like any player-caddie relationship, it ran its course. They mutually decided it was time to move on and both wish each other all the best in their future endeavors.”
