“Cashmere” Keith Mitchell has his priorities straight.
After tying the lead through 15 holes of the third round at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Mitchell looked to a fan and asked him to update him on the afternoon’s college football slate.
Pro, leading Tour event, still focused on college football
The 32-year-old veteran then promptly birdied the final two holes at the Country Club of Jackson to get to 20 under and take a one-shot lead into Sunday’s final round.
Asked how he would prepare for the final round, Mitchell again turned to football.
“I definitely need to set my fantasy football lineup,” he told Golf Channel jokingly.
He’ll have plenty of time to do that Sunday as he’ll play with Beau Hossler In the final round, seeking his second PGA Tour win, but not until 2:20 p.m. ET. You can watch Sunday’s third round of the Sanderson Farms Championship on Golf Channel starting at 3:30 p.m. ET.
