The PGA Tour season continues this week with the 2023 Wyndham Championship, and we’re picking a member of winning 2021 U.S. Ryder Cup team as our long shot. Here’s our pick, the Wyndham Championship odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.

Wyndham Championship odds: Long-shot bet

Our long-shot pick for this week’s Wyndham Championship is Harris English, who comes into the event with +6000 odds-to-win.

English is a four-time PGA Tour winner, capturing two victories early in his career in 2013 and two more recent victories in 2021, which earned him a spot on the victorious 2021 U.S. Ryder Cup team.

The 34-year-old veteran has had a solid season so far with four top-10 finishes and only eight missed cuts in 26 starts. Importantly, English has shown moments of elite-level play, including in a runner-up finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March and a T3 at the Wells Fargo Championship in May.

English also has a solid history at this event. In eight Wyndham Championship starts at Sedgefield Country Club, he’s only missed one cut and earned a 10th in 2012 and an 11th in 2018.

Should you put a $10 bet on English to win and he comes through, you’ll earn $600. For insurance, consider additional bets on English to finish top 10 and top 20.

Looking for more long-shot picks for the Wyndham Championship? Our honorable-mention long shots for the week are Adam Schenk (+6000) and Garrick Higgo (+6600).

How last week’s long-shot fared

We had another solid week of long-shot betting at the 3M Open. Our primary pick, Tom Hoge (+6600), had missed three of of his previous six cuts, but he got back on track in Minnesota. Hoge shot four rounds in the 60s (including four clutch birdies on the back nine Sunday) to finish at 12 under, good enough for a T20 finish, our 10th top-20 hit of the year.

One of our honorary mentions, Aaron Rai, also finished T20, while our other honorary mention, Doug Ghim, finished one shot back of Rai and Hoge at T27.

Check out how our long-shot picks have fared all season long below.
