With major season complete, the PGA Tour heads to Minnesota for the 2023 3M Open, where we’re eyeing a contender from last year to capture his second-career win. Here’s our pick, the 3M Open odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.

3M Open odds: Long-shot bet

Our long-shot pick for this week’s 3M Open is Tom Hoge at +6600 odds-to-win. The 34-year-old American veteran has four top-10s on the season. He won last year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for his lone career PGA Tour win to date.

Hoge put in a solid start two weeks ago at the Genesis Scottish Open, finishing T19. He has, however, missed three of his last six cuts, including last week at the Open Championship.

But last season, Hoge had missed six-straight cuts heading into the 3M Open, then put together an impressive T4 finish that would have been better if not for a final-round 70.

Should you wager $10 on Hoge only for him to pull off his second career win this week, you’ll earn $660. For insurance, consider placing additional bets on Hoge to finish top 10 and 20.

Looking for more long-shot picks for the 3M Open? Our honorable-mention long shots for the week are Aaron Rai (+5000) and Doug Ghim (+8000).

3M Open odds: The favorites

The favorite for this week’s 3M Open is the man who won the title last year: World No. 19 Tony Finau, whose odds-to-win are +1200 to start the week.

He’s followed in short order by the top-ranked player in the field, Open contender Cameron Young, who comes in with +1600 odds-to-win.

Rounding out the top 5 are Hideki Matsuyama (+1800 and our long-shot pick last week), Sungjae Im (+1800) and Justin Thomas (+2200).

How last week’s long-shot fared

We had a solid long-shot week at the Open, with our primary pick Hideki Matsuyama (+8000) carding three birdies on the back nine Sunday at Royal Liverpool to finish T13. That’s good enough for our ninth top-20 finish hit of the year (and Hideki was just one shot short of a top 10).

In other good news, our honorable-mention long shots, Tom Kim (+4500) and Jason Day (+10000), each had incredible tournaments, tying for second behind winner Brian Harman. If you put some money on them to finish top-10 as we did, you walked away with some quality winnings this week.
