The 2022 Zurich Classic of New Orleans kicks off Thursday morning at TPC Louisiana. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
Zurich Classic preview
This week features the PGA Tour’s only officially-sanctioned team event at the Zurich Classic. Eighty two-player teams will compete in fourball and alternate shot play over four rounds to determine the winner.
The defending champions from 2021 are back in the field this year to try and make it two in a row, and at least one of them is on a roll in 2022. Australian star Cameron Smith already has two wins on the season, at the Tournament of Champions and Players Championship, and he’s fresh off a near-win at the Masters. Smith teamed up with fellow Australian Marc Leishman last year to win the Zurich in a playoff.
But plenty of other formidable teams will give them a run for their money. including co-betting favorites Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele and Viktor Hovland & Collin Morikawa. Thursday will also see the return of Masters champion Scottie Scheffler who is joining forces with 2019 Zurich winner Ryan Palmer.
Coverage of this year’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans will be provided by Golf Channel and CBS on TV, and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Paramount+ online for those who prefer to stream the tournament.
