This week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational features a star-studded field going up against a course that has been a mainstay on the PGA Tour since The King made it that way, Bay Hill. The betting odds for the Arnold Palmer Invitational via BetMGM feature two heavy-hitters at the very top, and an ageing champion lurking in the depths. Here’s what you need to know.
It’s hard to look past the top two players with the best odds to win this week’s API: Jon Rahm (+800) and Rory McIlroy (+1100). Rahm has done everything he’s needed to maintain his No. 1 ranking in 2022. Though he has yet to capture a victory, he’s had a chance in all five starts he’s made on the PGA Tour this year, two of which resulted in top-three finishes.

It’s a very different story for former No. 1 McIlroy. We haven’t seen much of Rory on Tour this year, with his T10 finish a few weeks ago at the Genesis Invitational representing his lone start in 2022. But his last Tour start before the Genesis, at the CJ Cup in October, resulted in his 20th Tour win. He’s also put together several solid finishes on the DP World Tour in the meantime, and he triumphed at Bay Hill back in 2018, making him a great pick to win this week.
Rory Sabbatini is without a doubt a longshot to win at Bay Hill. The 45-year-old veteran hasn’t won on Tour since the 2011 Honda Classic, unless you count the 2019 QBE Shootout, which you shouldn’t. But it’s arguable that Sabbatini deserves slightly better odds than the +25000 he’s pegged with to win this week.
Last year he won an Olympic medal. Now he thinks he can’t competeBy: Dylan Dethier
Last season, he collected two top-10s and five top-25s, and he added an Olympic silver medal to go along with it. To start the new season last fall, Sabbatini finished T3 at the Shriners Children’s Open. In addition, he had a great performance just a couple of weeks ago at the WM Phoenix Open before a Sunday 73 ended his chances. Should you place $100 on Sabbo this week and he makes it happen, you’ll earn a cool $25,000.
