Notable groupings for Houston Open Round 1
Patrick Reed is hungry to get back in the conversation as one of the elite players on the PGA Tour. Despite capturing a victory last season at the Farmers Insurance Open in January, Reed finished 25th in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and he failed to qualify for the Ryder Cup, missing out on the U.S. team’s dominant victory at Whistling Straits.
Reed is hoping this season turns out differently, and he’s already off to a solid start, making three cuts so far this fall and finishing second at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Now ranked No. 23 in the Official World Golf Ranking, he’ll try to make his way back toward the Top 10 this week in Houston.
Reed will get his tournament started Thursday morning at 8:24 a.m. ET alongside Adam Scott and John Huh.
