It’s Sunday at the Zozo Championship from Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif. and there’s plenty up for grabs. Between a packed leaderboard and one of the biggest fields prior to next month’s Masters, Sunday’s final round figures to be heavy on excitement, even if Tiger Woods isn’t in contention to make a run toward a second-straight win. Here’s everything you need to know about the purse.
Zozo Championship final round preview
We love us some Justin Thomas, who leads the field on Sunday by a stroke after a pair of 65s to open his week. Thomas, who hasn’t won since the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational in the beginning of August, is looking for his 14th career PGA Tour win at the Zozo.
Defending champion Tiger Woods is also in the field on Sunday at Sherwood Country Club, but sits nearly 20 strokes off the lead. Tiger opened the week with a dreadful 76 and has been slowly chipping his way back toward the leaders in Thousand Oaks. Tied for 71st on Sunday, the final round will be little more than another tune-up ahead of next month’s trip to Augusta.
Jon Rahm is within striking distance heading into the final round after a masterful Saturday 63 that included a six-under start through seven holes. The Spaniard sits just one stroke behind Justin Thomas and alongside the likes of Patrick Cantlay and Cameron Champ lurking atop the leaderboard.
Below is the payout information for the Zozo’s $8 million purse; you can catch all the action on Sunday from 5-8:00 p.m., ET on Golf Channel.
