Si Woo Kim was thisclose to entering golf lore on Saturday at the Wyndham Championship. On the 12th hole, a 196-yard par-3, Kim lipped out for his second hole-in-one on the day.
While the shot wasn’t enough for another ace, it was plenty to land Kim another birdie en route to a two-stroke lead heading into Sunday in Greensboro.
A win Sunday would give Kim his second career Wyndham Championship victory (and third PGA Tour win). Doc Redman and Rob Oppenheim are the two golfers closest on Kim’s tail heading into the final round. Redman and Oppenheim trail the 25-year-old by two strokes each.
Also near the top of the leaderboard are Billy Horschel (-15) and Webb Simpson (-13). The two PGA Tour mainstays figure to have ample opportunity to chase Kim in the final round, particularly given the birdie-fest that Sedgefield Country Club has welcomed thus far this week.
Below is the payout information and winner’s share for the Wyndham Championship’s $6.4 million purse; you can watch all the action Sunday starting on Golf Channel at 12:30 p.m. ET, and continuing from 2:30 p.m. ET until the completion of the tournament on CBS.
