Brooks Koepka and Jena Sims infamously received the honor of a very public introduction to the world at the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills.
That week, cameras captured Koepka and Sims walking to the scorer’s tent after the former captured his first major championship victory. It was a picturesque moment for the newly joined couple, right up until the moment that Fox broadcaster Joe Buck introduced Sims as Becky Edwards — Koepka’s ex-girlfriend.
“Joe, that’s actually his new girlfriend, that’s Jena Sims,” said Brad Faxon, quickly correcting the mistake. “Brooks told me secretively that they were together this week.”
It was already too late. Social media was ablaze, and Koepka’s new girlfriend had unintentionally found herself in the center of the limelight.
That was nearly four years ago, and in the time since, the two have become one of the game’s most recognizable couples. Between dozens of hours of Instagram live streams, Q&As, and a handful of major championship wins, Koepka and Sims have done it all, endearing themselves to millions of golf fans in the process. In April, the couple announced they’d gotten engaged.
As Brooks makes his charge for his fifth major on Sunday at Kiawah Island, Sims will no doubt be nearby. She usually is, as you can see in the gallery above and below.
