GOLF Fall 2020 Style Guide: Your primer to look great on and off the course

Christian Hafer

Golf style is increasingly taking its cues from the street, making it easy to express your true self on the links. As we head toward crisp fall mornings and chilly winter rounds, these pieces help you look cool, play confidently and feel like yourself.

Those last three words, “feel like yourself,” is what we’re truly after in the entire style package you’ll experience right here in GOLF.com’s Pro Shop. Christian Hafer and I, with lots of help from our colleague Emily Haas, have identified tons of pieces for fall 2020 we’re excited about.

We called in hundreds of items, tried on almost all of them, and we’re featuring only those we think speak to the greater movement we’re so pumped about — the infusion of everyday streetwear into golfwear.

You might be asking yourself, who the heck are we, and why should you care about what we like? Hafer is GOLF Magazine’s chief photographer and brings a unique punk-influenced flair to the links. Whether he has a camera in his hands or a single-strap golf bag slung over his shoulder, he never compromises his own sense of style. I’m GOLF Magazine’s editorial director and gravitate to trends that help me feel athletic and confident on the course. Often that means mixing pieces that are made specifically for golf with items made for athletes in general, and I do this while respecting the rules of golf attire. And Haas was a collegiate golfer who spent several years working in the fashion industry before I lured her to GOLF Magazine.
