You can hit practice balls all day and not improve. But at the end of your range, I bet there’s more than one impact bag lying around, and they can be more helpful than emptying a large bucket.
Stack three bags on top of one another. (If there aren’t any available, you can visualize.) Set them up and swing.
Hit the top bag first [1]. This kind of baseball swing teaches you to keep your hips level as you move through impact instead of dipping in either direction. Hit the second one [2] and focus solely on striking the bag without overly swaying, staying centered and delivering as much speed as you can muster. Then, go for the bottom bag [3].
As it was originally designed to do, the impact bag lets you get to impact at full force while stopping you at the moment of truth. Each bag should move toward the target, not to the right or left. Level hips, minimal sway, solid strike — that’s a good practice session.
