Covid-19 may have put any purchasing ideas you had in March on hold. Now, it’s game on, and time to reassess your equipment needs. So, we’ve compiled the “Best in Show” from ClubTest 2020 to give you a refresher. These clubs are bold and beautiful, like the game itself. In this edition, we highlight TaylorMade’s SIM Max and P790 irons.
Why We Love Them
TaylorMade SIM Max irons
A distance iron without the clunkiness? Sign us up! The sound and feel of extra yardage are no longer strident, people: We can thank TaylorMade’s newly-refined Speed Bridge arched across the rear of the clubhead, and its ECHO Damping System, which stretches all the way from heel to toe.
TaylorMade P790 irons
Behold, the Trojan Horse of irons. From the outside, it appears to be a simple blade, but there’s killer technology stuffed inside its hollow head. This includes the injection of an ultralight urethane foam, Speedfoam, for added mph and better feel, and a tungsten weight low in the face for higher-launching shots.
