Most of us know our stock distances on the range. But when it comes time to make sound decisions on the course — adjusting for temperature, wind, elevation, how you’re swinging that day, etc. — we’re typically just ballparking yardages.
That’s where new link-enabled technology from Foresight Sports and Bushnell Golf smartly come together. The brands have connected the dots between launch monitor data and on-course tools like your rangefinder to remove any guesswork from your club selection.
This result not only provides you distances to your targets but also helps you make better decisions, shot by shot.
Foresight Sports’ new bundle provides analysis, club recommendations in real timeBy: Jessica Marksbury
Start with the basics: Know your bag
The recommendation process starts with the “MyBag Assessment” in the Foresight app. You hit at least three shots with every club in your bag on a Foresight launch monitor (GC3, QuadMAX, etc.), and the system tracks carry distance, launch, spin, and dispersion.
From there, you get a clear picture of how far you actually hit each club, and how consistent you are with each one.
From a gapping and gear IQ standpoint, that alone is a helpful step. But here’s where it gets fun…
Link your data to the course
Once your bag is mapped out, you sync that MyBag data to your Bushnell Golf app, and from there it pushes the intel to your Bluetooth-enabled Bushnell rangefinder, like the Pro X3+.

Now, instead of your rangefinder giving you a raw number and leaving you guessing, the device takes everything it knows about you and gives you a personalized distance based on playing conditions and how you’re swinging.
So, if you shoot the flag and it’s 162 yards away, the device might tell you it’s playing more like 177 today based on some of the following data variables:
-Elevation change
-Temperature
-Humidity
-Air pressure
-How you launch the ball
It’s called “PlayAs” Distance. It’s not a generic slope calculation anymore — it’s a customized distance for you.
Is AI the future of fitting or just a really smart assistant?By: Kris McCormack
Club selection gets smarter
Let’s be honest, most poor shots don’t come from bad swings — they come from bad decisions. Choosing the wrong club. Not trusting the wind. Underestimating how far the ball will fly in the morning air. You get the idea.
This tech helps fix that by giving you:
-Real-time yardages adjusted for today’s conditions
-Smart club recommendations based on your data
-A way to stop second-guessing and start playing with more confidence
So, instead of standing over the ball hoping your 8-iron gets there, you’ll actually know if it can.
Course management: More than just yardage
This tech also gives you an edge in planning your way around a hole.
Through the Bushnell app, you’ll see dispersion patterns for each club laid out over satellite maps of the course. These aren’t generic; they’re based on your actual MyBag data. So, when you’re deciding between hitting 3-wood or driver on a tight par-4, you can see how much room for error each one gives you.
It’s not about playing scared; it’s about playing smart. Avoiding trouble. Playing to your strengths. Choosing lines that make sense for your game, not listening to your playing partner who struggles to break 90.

This is the kind of thinking that separates frustrating rounds from fantastic ones. How many times do you look back at your round and think, I just needed one more club, that would have put me on the green. I would have carried the water, and I wouldn’t have made that double. I’ve been there more times than I can count.
This tech doesn’t make you swing like a Tour pro, and it doesn’t fix your slice. But it will help you stop making avoidable mistakes. And for most of us, that’s where the strokes are hiding.
You’re not guessing how far your clubs go. You’re not winging it when the wind picks up. You’re not hoping the elevation won’t matter. You’ve got tools and data that help you play the kind of smart, intentional golf that leads to better scores.
Good golf is not about being perfect. It’s about being prepared.
