Welcome to a new GOLF.com column, where we’ll highlight one notable item that you might consider buying. Whether it’s an article of clothing, an intriguing electronic device, a piece of equipment designed to increase golf’s enjoyment factor — or anything in between — we want to share these items with you simply because they’ve generated a bit of chatter by our water cooler (or on our Slack channel these days). So sit back, scroll down and keep up with the latest gear golf has to offer.
In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, Nova Scotia experienced a devastating shooting and arson attack last week that claimed the lives of 22 victims. Halifax-based Dormie Workshop—known for their unique leather golf head covers— stepped up immediately to donate $5,000 to the families linked to this tragedy. This week, the team at Dormie decided to do even more to support the Canadian Red Cross and additional victims by partnering with the NHL to broaden their impact.
From April 30th to May 3rd, Dormie is auctioning off signed paraphernalia on their instagram page. They have Wayne Gretzky autographed driver covers, a Sidney Crosby autographed penguins jersey, a Lee Trevino signed hat, and more. Many of the auction items also come with an NHL themed driver head cover as well. Click here to see the full array of signed gear and more.
To get in on the action, post a comment on the item you want to purchase with your bid amount. Smaller ticket items will be sold on their instagram story. All you have to do is screenshot the item you’d like to purchase and send the picture to mstewart@dormieworkshop.com.
If you’re a sports fan, this is an amazing way to collect a priceless memento while also supporting a worthy cause and a small business.
