Where it stops, everybody knows: GOLF’s official 2021 season calendar

kiawah island golf resort

The year ahead in golf is a drama still unwritten, but we know that every major scene will play out on a spectacular stage (like Kiawah Island in May).

Gary Kellner | The PGA of America

From storied British links to majestic West Coast munis and every style of architecture in between, the venues for the top events of 2021 stand unsurpassed in their variety and beauty, a showcase for the game in all its glorious forms. So let the fireworks begin.

In May, the Ocean Course at Kiawah, a modernist marvel and seaside monster, will welcome the PGA Championship for the second time.

Torrey Pines is on the docket, too. The site of Tiger Woods’ broken legged heroics at the 2008 U.S. Open, San Diego’s prized city-run track has been tapped for our national championship again.

The Olympic Club and Southern Hills are no strangers to majors. Both will enjoy another 15 minutes when the women and the seniors take a crack at them. And we haven’t even made it across the pond yet.

Better late than never, Royal St. George’s will reclaim its place in the Open Championship rota before ceding the spotlight, later in the summer, to enchanting Sunningdale.

How the plots will play out remain open questions. What isn’t a mystery? The magnificence of their settings. Take a look.
