The 2020 U.S. Open is coming down to the wire at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y. Here’s everything you need to know about the purse, including how much the winner makes.

U.S. Open final-round preview

Expectations were high for the USGA’s typically brutal setup heading into the week, and Winged Foot has delivered despite a rash of low scores on Thursday. In its first appearance since Gil Hanse’s 2016-17 restoration, the West Course at Winged Foot has been more than up to the task of many of the game’s best.

Those hoping for an over-par champion may be disappointed after conditions eased off a bit Saturday afternoon, but if the 2006 U.S. Open taught us anything, it’s that scores can change significantly on Sunday, and in a hurry. And a late-Sunday charge feels particularly within the realm of possibility when considering the depth and star-power of the names near the very top of the leaderboard in the final round.

Patrick Reed, Matthew Wolff, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, the list goes on. Even Rory McIlroy isn’t completely out of the mix if he’s able to make a late run. The stage is certainly set for a heart-pounding finish in Mamaroneck.

Below is the payout information and winner’s share for the U.S. Open’s massive $12.5 million purse; you can catch the coverage from 10 a.m. until noon on Golf Channel, and all afternoon on NBC.
