The two brands have teamed up to bring you an hour-long special that will see some of the biggest names in golf — and the greater pro sports world — pedal it out for a good cause.
In the Men’s Division, World No. 1 Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Bubba Watson will ride against each other and other notable athletes, including Gordon Hayward, Kyle Rudolph, Booger McFarland, Matt Gravers and Mike Golic Jr., in a 20-minute workout.
Morgan Pressel will represent golf in the Women’s Division, going up against one of the fastest women on earth in Allyson Felix, as well as Colleen Quigley, Dawn Staley, Kyla Ross, Michele Smith, Monica Puig and tennis star Victoria Azarenka.
It all airs at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday on ESPN.
Both divisions will consist of a 20-minute workout coached by by Robin Arzon, Peloton Cycling Instructor and Vice President of Fitness Programming, and Alex Toussaint, a Peloton Instructor.
With sports on hiatus due to the coronavirus, athletes have turned to Peloton because it offers them a competitive training option. The company is teaming up with ESPN to show you just how hard these athletes go.
On top of that, if the athletes reach a combined output wattage of 3,000 kilojoules, Peloton will donate one million meals to the Food Bank of New York City to help those in need.
Rory holds the unofficial title as the Tour’s Peloton King — which has been contested by our Jonathan Wall — while Thomas and Watson are no slouches on the bike. All three participate in regular friendlies against each other to stay in shape and keep their competitive edge with the Tour on hiatus.
With Peloton’s All-Star Ride, Pressel and her PGA Tour pro counterparts will have a chance to not only see how they stack up against each other, but also against some of the fittest athletes in the world.
ESPN’s broadcast of the event will feature both 20-minute classes for the Men’s and Women’s divisions with Peloton Instructor Ally Love and ESPN commentator Ryan Ruocco on the call.
Who will be crowned the Peloton King of sports? We’ll soon find out.
