Here’s how you can get the limited-edition Titleist ‘Aloha’ hats the pros are sporting in Maui
Titleist wants you on island time for this week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions, whether you’re with the pros on the sunny shores of Maui or watching from your couch in the dead of winter.
Five of Titleist’s players, including Justin Thomas and golf Twitter whiz Max Homa, are set to celebrate Aloha Friday at the Sentry in style. The quintette will be teeing off from Kapalua on Friday rocking the brand’s limited-edition “Aloha” hat.
“Each year we look to Hawaiian culture for inspiration to drive our design’s direction,” said Jim Benton, vice president of Titleist Gear.
This year’s iteration is (fittingly) pineapple-themed, with the fruit featuring prominently in the background design and emblazoned upon the brim.
“We shifted that design inspiration to a long time symbol for Hawaii — the Pineapple,” Benton said. “Within the Aloha pattern, along with the Pineapple, we also feature images of Hibiscus (the state flower of Hawaii), ferns and palm trees.”
The other three players participating in the campaign for Titleist at the Sentry are Tyler Duncan, Lanto Griffin and J.T. Poston. All five showcased the hat on Twitter earlier this week as part of a giveaway in the lead-up to the tournament. Fans looking to score one of Titleist’s island-inspired lids for free can head to Twitter to enter each player’s contest.

The Sentry is historically a hotbed for Hawaiian-themed wardrobe decisions. Rickie Fowler unsurprisingly joined the fun, donning a head-turning outfit during Wednesday’s practice round. Beyond the island aesthetic, the first tournament of 2020 features a loaded field that also includes Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed and Gary Woodland.
Also on display this week in Maui is the Plantation Course at Kapalua, which is newly revitalized thanks to the work of its original course designers (Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw) in the hopes of providing a greater challenge for the pros.
