Jordan Spieth’s practice round at TPC Sawgrass ahead of this week’s Players Championship was momentarily interrupted on Tuesday, but for a good reason: a fan needed Spieth to hear his school speech on the three-time major champ.
“Hey Jordan, I’m doing a report on you at school,” the boy said, which was recorded and posted on Twitter by @RossyNole10 on Tuesday. “Do you want to hear my speech?”
“Sure, buddy,” Spieth said, slowing down.
The next 40 seconds consisted of what was surely an A+ report. The kid read his speech — which he memorized — and dropped knowledge on Spieth’s family, accomplishments, little-known facts and more. You have to watch it for yourself, below.
The video, in less than 24 hours, was shared and retweeted hundreds of times — even by Spieth’s mom, Christine — and has already been viewed more than 700,000 times.
It gets better, too. The kid is now the owner of a new golf ball and glove.
Spieth enters this week’s Players Championship coming off four straight top-15 finishes. Check out Round 1 tee times for the Players here.
