U.S. Open 2019: Where is Pebble Beach located?

June 13, 2019

The 2019 U.S. Open begins today at Pebble Beach Golf Links. The 119th edition of the U.S. Open will be the sixth held at the iconic course, and the first since 2010. But where is Pebble Beach located?

Pebble Beach Golf Links is located along 17-Mile Drive in Pebble Beach, Calif. The town is located along the coast of the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey County. The course is about a two-hour drive south of the Bay Area, a three-hour drive southwest of the state capital, Sacramento, and a roughly five-hour drive northwest of Los Angeles.

The course has previously hosted the U.S. Open in 1972, 1982, 1992, 2000, and 2010. The winners in each of those years have been Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Tom Kite, Tiger Woods and, the most recent, Graeme McDowell. Pebble Beach also plays host to its annual Pro-Am every February.

Brooks Koepka is the two-time defending U.S. Open champion and will be looking for his third straight national championship. He would become the first player to win three straight U.S. Open titles since Willie Anderson from 1903-1905.
