This mesmerizing Lego replica of Augusta’s 12th hole will cure your Masters blues
At this point, everyone knows that the 2020 Masters has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Golf fans the world round are working their way through the appropriate stages of grief. At the same time, many golfers are hunkered down in their homes looking for things to do with no golf to watch on TV for the foreseeable future.
But one father and daughter pair found an excellent way to bide their time and deal with their Masters grief: creating a replica of Augusta National’s iconic par-3 12th hole entirely out of Legos.
Twitter user and self-described golf nut Lou Stagner and his daughter created the plastic masterpiece out of a whopping 20,000 Lego pieces. The final product stretches 50 inches long, 20 inches wide, and 20 inches high, taking up their entire dining room table.
And the pair did not ignore the details. The re-creation hews faithfully to the real design, including trees, flower beds, greenside bunkers and the meandering Rae’s Creek, where many Masters hopes go to die, running in front of the 12th’s tricky green.
