The 2022 BMW Championship, the second leg of the 2022 FedEx Cup Playoffs, kicks off this week at Wilmington Country Club in Delaware. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
BMW Championship preview
With the first tournament of this year’s FedEx Cup Playoffs in the rearview, we now have a new player sitting atop the standings: Will Zalatoris. The 26-year-old rising star has been making noise on Tour for two years, especially at the majors, but at the start of the playoffs he was still winless for his career.
That all changed on Sunday, when Zalatoris rode a hot putter to his first Tour victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Already ranked high, the win vaulted him into the No. 1 spot in the FedEx Cup standings with just two tournaments to play.
The first one, this week’s BMW, begins Thursday morning at Wilmington Country Club. Zalatoris will face off against the top 70 players, including betting favorite Rory McIlroy and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who both missed the cut last week.
After the completion of the BMW, only the top 30 players will survive to compete in the Tour Championship, the playoff finale next week at East Lake.
Golf Channel and NBC will provide TV coverage of the BMW Championship, and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and NBCSports.com will stream the action online.
